Founded by: Henrietta Morrison
Lily’s Kitchen started life nine years ago and has revolutionised the way that cats and dogs eat since founder, Henrietta Morrison, discovered how her homemade, natural meals cleared up her dog, Lily’s, chronic itchy skin. The brand has since attracted thousands of fans who rave about its nourishing and natural alternatives to the mass-produced, highly processed products that dominate supermarket shelves and that are often packed with the lowest quality grade ingredients. Comments Morrison, "I wanted to make a range of safe and natural foods that were truly healthy, accessibly priced and reassured pet owners. The biggest compliments we get are when owners send us pictures of their happy pets and tell us how our food has transformed their pet’s health – this is what gets us out of bed every day.'
Born out of a desire to do the best for the UK’s pets, Lily’s Kitchen products are unique in the world. This leader in natural and organic pet foods is the first British producer of nutritionally complete, grain-free and meat meal-free recipes and it uses freshly prepared meat and fish along with vibrant fruits and vegetables in its recipes – no unnecessary additives or flavours, rendered meats, cheap fillers or fibrous leftovers.
The brand takes its name from Henrietta’s Border Terrier Lily who battled with itchy skin and ears due to the low quality processed food she was eating. Like most pet owners, Henrietta was unaware of the detrimental effect Lily’s diet was having on her health. After consulting with her brother, a vet, who analysed the contents of the food, she was shocked by the results and began cooking food for Lily herself. The transformation in her health was remarkable. So she spent two years working together with a range of vets and nutritionists to create the best food for pets, containing wholesome, natural ingredients together with high quality vitamins and chelated minerals.
The range is currently available nationwide in Waitrose, Tesco, Pets At Home and Ocado as well as in Wholefoods, Daylesford Organic, vet surgeries, organic health food shops and pet shops as well as online.
